Start @Home Inspection Services is focused on providing high-quality home inspection services to buyers, sellers, and real estate professionals throughout Long Island and Queens area. With our comprehensive home inspection and reporting process, our mission is to assist all of our clients in making an informed decision regarding the property they are considering selling or purchasing.
We offer a variety of residential home inspection services from General Home Inspections, to Environmental Testing and Sampling. Through our professional, comprehensive home inspection reporting and ancillary services, we bring a consultative approach to the home inspection process, realizing that each clients needs are unique and important to their understanding of their purchase decision.
We encourage you as a buyer or seller to be present at the home inspection so any questions or concerns you may have can be fully addressed by us at the time of the inspection. Inspection reports are available by e-mail on site, or later that same day providing you the convenience of same day home inspection reporting if needed.
Jim Conk (Owner)
Jim has always had a passion for real estate/home construction, and helping people purchase their own homes. In 2008 after several years in the home construction industry, Jim took the plunge and enrolled at the Career and Educational Division of Wilson Tech in Dix Hills Long Island and received his home inspectors license
The program is approved by the National Association of Home Inspectors, Inc. and the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors.
Jim has been an associate member of ASHI since 2008 and continues his education in the field on a regular basis.

In 1976, a group of visionary home inspectors with the common goal of building consumer awareness and enhancing the professionalism of their field established the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).
This not-for-profit professional association for home inspectors made its first order of business to establish and advocate high standards of practice and a strict code of ethics for the member community.
The Mission of ASHI is to set and promote standards for property inspections and to provide the educational programs needed to achieve excellence in the profession and to meet the needs of our members.
